Meeting with the Principal of National College of Arts (NCA) Lahore: New Opportunities to Art Establishments
Mr. Mohammad Reza Nazeri the Consul General and Mr. Jafar Ronas the cultural Attaché & Director General Khana Farhang Consulate General Islamic Republic of Iran-Lahore; in the presence of Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri-Principal NCA and other officials, inaugurated the photography exhibition 'TAPESTRY OF FAITHS' by MOBEEN ANSARI along with the screening of the film 'HELLHOLE' on 27th September 2021 at Zahoor Ul Akhlaq gallery, National College of Arts (NCA) Lahore.
The possibilities of Art Establishments came under discussion during the formal meeting. Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, while highlighting the great scope of Art & Culture based bilateral collaborations between Pakistan and Iran also mentioned about the two former cooperation agreements signed among National College of Arts (NCA) Lahore, Tehran University of Arts and Qom Faculty of Islamic Art. He also refereed and appreciated the significant advancement in Iranian art sciences; moreover, he emphasized the idea of establishing Artists and Students of Arts & Culture studies exchange program between the two countries.
Mr. Jafar Ronas, while appreciating the development Art education perspective in Pakistan especially in Punjab region and the contribution of art education institutes and their legislatures or allies; the Cultural Attaché said: "Khana Farhang Iran-Lahore always played a vital role in establishment of bridging bilateral cultural relations between two brotherly countries and facilitating a reliable source for art & academic personals. “Khana Farhang Iran or Iranian Cultural Centre is the major cultural diplomacy institution of Islamic Republic of Iran and since its establishment in 1956, projecting Iranian culture in Pakistan and the rich manifestations of Pakistani culture to Iran. Khana Farhnag Iran-Lahore mobilizes international arts & cultural exchanges; associating academic and art institutes of both countries; tourism; and supports corresponding cultural centers” he added. Mr. Ronas while expressing willingness to joining hands together with National College of Arts (NCA) proposed to hold allied art & educational workshops along with exhibitions in near future and also pledged on consideration of facilitating Artists and Students of Arts & Culture studies exchange program between the two countries.
The Principal of Lahore National School of Arts Prof. Dr. Jafri welcomed and appreciated the proposal.
