DG Khana Farhang Iran-Lahore visited Government Islamia Graduate College for Women, Cooper Road Lahore

Mr. Jafar Ronas Director General Cultural Centre of Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore visited Government Islamia Girls College, Cooper Road Lahore; on Tuesday November 23, 2021. The objective of the visit to consideration of activating Iranology Camber at the Institute and review further future developments and alliances.

 

Dr. Fauzia Naz the Principal; Ms. Shazia Shaoib, head of Persian department along with other Persian language teachers and students welcomed the delegation of Cultural Centre of Iran-Lahore. A welcome address to the chief guest was given by the Persian Department’s head. Followed by a special dedicated program regarding Dr. Allama Iqbal Lahori Day has beautifully executed by the students of Persian language. Program was started by recitation of Quran with its translation in Persian language.

 

Later, all the participant students presented Allama Iqbal’s poetry in different manners.

Mr. Ronas while extending his thanks to Dr. Fauzia naz and Ms. Shazia Shoaib for the invitation, appreciated the great effort of the students and the management on conducting such a beautiful program; their fondness & love towards the great poet and Persian language. Mr. Ronas said: “I am happy to see that the youngsters present in the room love Iqbal and it gives us a good energy. No doubt Iqbal has a great influence not only in Pakistan but also in Iran. Iqbal’s theories are not limited to one nation, his thoughts and philosophy of “Khudi” affected all nations around the world and are beacon of light not only for us but for all future generations.”

 “Iqbal never travelled to Iran but his poetry and philosophy are being taught is all the institutes there. His personality is not only noteworthy or eminent in Pakistan but also in Iran he has a great importance,” he added.

Mr. Ronas said: “To improve Persian language, the doors of Iranian Cultural Centre-Lahore are always open for everyone. The Iranian Cultural Centre every three months conducts online and in-person Persian Language learning sessions the teachers and students are welcomed to join them. Other than that, we have all the literary resources at the Centre and you all can come there to make the most out of it.” “We have organized 5-Day Iran-Pakistan-Turkey Calligraphy Exhibition and workshops at Alhamrah Arts Council Lahore and today is the closing ceremony at 3:00 p.m. I would be delighted if your teachers and students can come and join us there.
